🎨 Chloe Morello

Beauty creator Chloe Morello's international career began with makeup videos filmed in her Batemans Bay bedroom. A family motel had once seemed her likely working future, as she recalled in a 2017 interview. Online tutorials instead opened the way to a much wider audience and beauty-industry collaborations. 🤝 Anthony Bellette

When people sought shelter from bushfires at Malua Bay on 31 December 2019, Batemans Bay Surf Life Saving Club captain Anthony Bellette helped mobilise its volunteers. The club became an evacuation point, requiring food, water, traffic organisation and communication as well as the skills normally associated with beach patrols. His satellite phone helped keep information moving. The lifesaving organisation's account records both his coordination and the broader volunteer response to the crisis.
